YOUNGSTERS at St Peter's Primary School in Portishead have been exploring the Amazon Rainforest through role play. The five and six year olds dressed up to embark on a fact-finding mission to discover out how to look after plants and animals.
After finding mystery footprints, the children used books to help them find out who had been making tracks in the forest.
Teaching assistant Freda Wheat said: "Young children learn through experience and within role play social skills like taking turns, being fair, resolving problems, agreeing and being responsible are paramount. But most importantly they can have fun while learning together about new surroundings.
