Peru's Titicaca and Amazonas top their New7wonders categories

Lake Titicaca and Amazon Rainforest still top their respective groups in New7Wonders of Nature online contest.

Titicaca leads Group F (lakes, rivers and waterfalls) and the Amazon River and Rainforest took first place in Group E, (Forests, National Parks and Nature Reserves).

The Titicaca Lake remains at the top of its group since May 19th and has become the main south American candidate.

The Amazon River’s candidature has the support of authorities from Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil, Ecuador, French Guiana, Suriname, Peru and Venezuela.

The Colca Canyon, located in Arequipa, is considered the only completely Peruvian candidate, and also stands second in Group D (caves, rock formations and valleys).
